Police or ADGP General Director Mukesh Singh confirmed that 12 passengers were killed and at least 14 injured while running. According to him, all the wounded were taken to the hospital.
The incident took place outside the Tricot Hills sanctuary. Vice Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha ordered a high-level investigation into the explosion.
Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Dilbag Singh said that according to preliminary information from the scene, 12 people were killed as a result of a minor skirmish between young people flying to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple.
“The police and government officials reacted quickly and order was immediately restored to the group, but by then the damage had already been done,” he told the Press Trust of India.

A witness from Haryana shared the crushed scenes at the Vaishno Devi Temple.
With a large number of devotees hanging around the altar, he said there was no way to go. People started pushing and shoving, some fell to the ground and lost consciousness, leading to panic, which led to a crush.
“It simply came to our notice then. I think someone was pushing from behind and I saw people slipping and falling. Women and children were lying on the ground, critically injured as people ran. I had to climb to the roof of the building to protect myself, ”he said.

Expressing sympathy to the families of the victims, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured them of all possible assistance and medical assistance.
